My Village
Kodiyathur

I am really proud to born and brought in this villages Mavoor and Kodiyathur. I am really overjoyed to share my child hood school days. Still i can feel the smell of my village, Those rainy days. Long swimming in Chaliyar river, fishing,

A beautiful village in Calicut District of Kerala state in India, which carries lots of Sweet memories and unknown emotions, That is Kodiyathur,That small streets,That old fashioned homes, lovely and honest peoples with their unic speech, dressing, innocency, culture, what more its pure like rain,It is a remote and peaceful village with very less activity and it is far, far away from the madding crowd.

Let me tell you something more about kodiyathur, Kodi kutthiya ooru’, that is Kodiyathur. Most of the flags from most common thoughts, religious, sub-religious, political, cultural bodies… are positioned here from olden era itself. Even if Kodiyathur is splendid with different thoughts, the village has not been witnessed a communal riots or political assassin up to this date.

The village has get into the national political history through Mohammed Abdurahiman sahib’s last speech and gain entry to the world religious map by Mubahala held at 1989.

Kodiyathur is finely connected with road from districts Kozhikode and Malappuram. From Kozhikode (Calicut) city, the availability of bus services are in full fledge through Mavoor – Cheruvadi and through Kunnamangalam – Mukkam. From Malappuram district, the main entrance to Kodiyathur is vie Nellikkaparambu through Areacode. Please check the website for more...

Mavoor

Mavoor is the largest village in Kozhikode district in Kerala, India. It is 20km away from Calicut city. Mavoor was the place for storing grass which is used to build houses.Hence the former name of mavoor was Pulparampu.Until 1960s, Mavoor was also like any other village in Kerala-an undeveloped one.But in 1960s Birla Management started a factroy named Gwalior Rayons for producing pulp and fibre. The arrival of Gwalior Rayons caused a rapid change in the life style of native people and a tremendous development.I am from an old Tharavaadu called Poolakkode.

Geographically mavoor is a beautiful place with river chaliyar, We used to bath in Chalyar but now i feel so sad to tell about chaliyar. its tottaly Poluted

mavoor

Mavoor is famous for its religious harmony. Many Temples, Mosques and Churches are situated in the nearby places.Any communal problems are not reported from Mavoor until now.Mavoor Juma masjid,Kalchira Sree Narasimha moorthi kshethram,Christ the King Church, Little flower church etc are the major religious centers in Mavoor.
